AOC 4 XBRL is a specialized format for filing financial statements with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) in India, using XBRL.

Its applicability is governed by Rule 12 of the Companies (Filing of Documents and Forms in Extensible Business Reporting Language) Rules, 2015.

The following companies are required to file AOC 4 XBRL:

  • Listed companies
  • Companies with paid-up capital of ₹5 crore or more
  • Companies with turnover of ₹100 crore or more
  • Companies required to prepare financial statements under Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS)

However, non-banking financial companies (NBFCs), housing finance companies, and companies engaged in banking or insurance are currently exempt from XBRL filing.

The AOC 4 XBRL form must be filed annually, typically within 30 days of the Annual General Meeting (AGM).
